Bobby Charles Wilbanks was born in Wayne County, Tenn., on Sept. 19, 1942, the son of the late Roy and Dallas Wilbanks.

On June 1, 1966 he was united in marriage to Deretha Hosea, who survives.

Mr. Wilbanks grew up in the Lutts community moving to Savannah after graduating high school. He was a member of the Army National Guard and was honorably discharged in December of 1967. Mr. Wilbanks worked in manufacturing most of his life. He was a foreman for the Wise Company. Mr. Wilbanks was a member of Eureka United Methodist Church. He loved his family, playing pool, listening to country music, watching sports and he especially loved the Tennessee Volunteers.

Mr. Wilbanks departed this life on Friday, March 29, in Savannah at the age of 70 years, 6 months and 10 days.

In addition to his wife, Deretha of Savannah, he is survived by two daughters, Bobbie Matlock and her husband Johnny and Connie Harville and her husband Nicky, all of Savannah, two grandchildren, Jessica Matlock Davey and her husband Mel of Nashville and Daniel Matlcok and his wife Ashley of Savannah.

Other than his parents, he was also preceded in death by one brother, Johnny Wilbanks.

Services were held on Monday, April 1, at 11 a.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jim Wright, Max Franks officiating. Burial followed in the Lutts Cemetery.
