Carl Kent (4-26-14) service 5-1-14

Carl Terry “Pappy” Kent, 56, of Savannah, died Saturday, April 26, at Methodist Central Hospital in Memphis. He was born in Covington, the son of the late Van Allen and Helen Gerline Shelley Kent. He was united in marriage to Tammy Lynn Brigance, who survives.

Mr. Kent served his country in the United States Army.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Amanda Butler of Savannah, Rebecca and Carl Kent, both of Morris Chapel, and Jeff Butler of Savannah; three sisters, Debbie Taylor of Memphis, and Barbara Dibenedetto and Gail Ballard, both of Covington; three brothers, Donald Kent of Bartlett, Ricky Kent of Covington and David Kent of Dyersburg and four grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Timmy Kent and a sister, Anita Harding.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 1, at North Highland Cemetery in Waynesboro.
