Charles David "C.D." Rickman, 70, of Shiloh, died on Wednesday, Sept. 26.

He was born in Shiloh, son of the late Joe and Evelyn Glover Rickman. He was united in  marriage to Patricia Elaine Cherry Rickman, who survives.

Mr. Rickman served our country in the United States Airborne Division, stationed in Vietnam. He was a member of Gideons, Lions Club, Sons of Confederate Veterans, Shiloh Action Committee, Friends of Shiloh National Military Park, Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion and Veterans of America. Charles also worked at the Hardin County Veterans Service Office, where he did public service.

In addition to his wife, Patricia Rickman of Shiloh, he is survived by sons, Christopher Rickman of Manchester, Tennessee, Jeremy Rickman and Parker Kelly, both of Shiloh; stepsons, Greg Kennon of Lebanon, Tennessee, Christopher Jayne of Murfreesboro and Clinton Hornaday of Shiloh; stepdaughter, Heather Jayne of Savannah; brother, Terry Rickman of Maryville, Tennessee; sisters, Mary Ruth Driskell of Shiloh and Jeannie Sloan of Crump; and one grandson.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Jo Ann Ross.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Shiloh Fire Station. Make checks out to “Shiloh Action Committee” and mail to Ronnie Fullwood, 828 Lawrence Sowell Road, in Michie, Tennessee 38357.

Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 29, at Shiloh Methodist Church in Shiloh with Ronnie  Fullwood, Jim Griffin and Thad Calton officiating. Burial followed in Shady Grove Cemetery of Shiloh at Shiloh.
