Rev. Cletis Keele, 84, of Savannah, died on Tuesday, Dec. 29, in Savannah.

He was born in Waterloo, Alabama, the son of the late John Henry Keele and Nancy Keele Wilkerson. He was united in marriage to Katie Hurley, who survives.

He worked for Hassell and Hughes Lumber Company where he filed and hammered saws. He also had his own shop at his home. He served as pastor at Sand Hill Holiness Church in Savannah for 47 years.

He is survived by his wife, Katie Keele of Savannah; sons, Ricky Keele and Jeffery Keele, both of Savannah; daughter, Patsy Keele of Savannah; six grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; sisters, Betty Sue Hunt of Savannah and Minnie Ralls of San Antonio, Texas; and one brother, James Keele of Savannah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Nicky Keele; a great-grandson; a sister, Mattie Lou Hollands; and two brothers, Henry Keele and Otis Keele.

Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 9, at Faith Apostolic Church in Savannah with Kevin Smith and Danny Keymon officiating. Burial followed in Campground Cemetery at Savannah.
