Dennis Neill Rice was born in Savannah on Jan. 22, 1963, the son of Doris Neill Rice and the late Charles Donald Rice. Dennis was a medical technician for Hardin County Skills and had worked for 17 years for Angelica. He was a member of Turkey Creek Baptist Church.

Dennis enjoyed collecting and rebuilding trains and John Deere tractors and loved fish aquariums. He was also a cake decorator. On Aug. 15, 1987, he was united in marriage to Debra Bain, who preceded her husband in death on May 15, 2010.

Dennis departed this life on Dec. 6, in Nashville at the age of 50 years, 10 months and 14 days. He is survived by his mother, Doris Rice of Savannah; a sister, Gail Rice Petty of Ramer; a brother, Donald Dale Rice of Savannah; two nieces, Olivia Hutcheson and Rebecca DeStefano; two nephews, Bryan (B.J.) Petty and Seth Rice; three great-nephews, Tristan Rice, Gavin Rice and Sebastien Petty; and one great-niece Emma Grace Hutcheson.

Services were held on Dec. 9 in Savannah with Eric Jones, Artie Rivers and Phil Cromwell officiating. Burial followed at Mount Hermon Cemetery in Hardin County.
