Dona Jean Lott

Dona Jean Lott was born in Hardin County, on Oct. 12, 1927, the daughter of the late Mallie Russell and Virgie Maybell Smith.

She was united in marriage to Hershel Junior Lott for 65 years, who survives.

Mrs. Lott retired as a fancy stitcher from Brown Shoe Company. She was a member of Crump United Methodist Church. Mrs. Lott loved attending auctions, doll collecting, quilting and crocheting and she loved flowers. Mrs. Lott loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She departed this life on March 1, at the McNairy Regional Hospital in Selmer, at the age of 82 years, 4 months and 17 days.

Other than her husband Hershel of Crump, she is survived by two daughters, Linda Dyann Lott Moore of Sarasota, Fla. and Susan Nan Lott Gean of Savannah; two sons, Henry Lyle Lott of Adamsville and Sammie Hugh Lott of Adamsville; five grandchildren, Ricky Junior Moore, Jerry Wallace Moore, Lorie Ann Earwood, Steven Wade Gean and Jesse Russell Lott; eight great grandchildren, Haley Dyann Moore, Allison Carol Moore, Kenzie Faith Moore, Daniel Martin Earwood, Aaron James Earwood, Madison Grace Gean, Aiden Lyle Lott and Eli Thomas-Earl Moore; a special nephew, James "Jim" Russell of Murfreesboro, Tenn.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Mal Russ Smith and Randal Russell Smith and her grandparents, Henry Clay Smith, Minnie Parker Smith, Mahalia Isam Smith and Ruthie Thorne Smith.

Services were held on Thursday, March 4, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with David Highland officiating. Burial was in the Crump Cemetery at Crump.
