Donald Angotti (2-8-14) service 2-10-14

Donald Angotti was born in Upper Wirth, Ark., on Jan. 19, 1934, the son of the late Stephan and Era B. Roscoe Angotti. He departed this life Feb. 8, in Savannah at the age of 80 years and 20 days.

Mr. Angotti retired from Aqua Glass where he worked as an engineer in the Research and Development Department. He also was machine shop instructor for Tennessee College of Applied Technology School in Crump. He was a member of Savannah Masonic Lodge 102. He was a well-respected man in the community who loved to teach anyone how to fix things. He was an inventor, mechanist, mechanic, welder and he built several unique homes, one on stilts, one “envelope” house and a geodesic dome from stainless. He loved to restore antique vehicles and built a car, which was titled as an “Angotti” model. He loved his family and lived his life with a steady acceptance when storms came his way.

He is survived by his children, Donna Broyles and Jason Angotti, both of Crump, Andrew Angotti of Halls and Anthony Angotti of Whiteville; and six grandchildren, Allison Mathis, Rebekah Jowers, Jonathan Broyles, Selina Angotti, Caleb Angotti and Lucas Angotti.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Thelma Murphy, Bertha Merrick, Lillie Angotti and Edna Jo Bilkey and three brothers, Thad, Finis and Ronald Angotti.

Services were Feb. 10 in Savannah, with Mike Anderson officiating. Memorial donations may be made to Hardin County Cancer Association.
