Edith Hargrove Ross

Edith Ross, age 91, passed away Sunday, Aug. 22, in Savannah.

She was born Nov. 3, 1918, in Hardin County, to the late J.W. and Mary Hargrove.

She was a lifelong resident of Savannah and worked at the Ben Franklin Store for many years. She was a member of Olivet Cumberland Presbyterian Church. She loved her family, home and garden.

Mrs. Ross was preceded in death by her first husband, George White, who passed away in 1965, and her second husband, Scott Ross, who passed away in 1996. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Leo Hargrove and two sisters, Anita Grimes and Annie Lou Roach.

Mrs. Ross is survived by one sister, Mary Ruth Ledbetter and husband Alex of Virginia, one uncle Billy Laden and wife Margarite, and cousins, Bobby, Brenda, Laura Beth Laden and Nell Dicus.

She also leaves behind her nieces and nephews, Garry Grimes, Teresa Sellers, Linda Holman, Bill Ledbetter and David Ledbetter.

Services will be held on Saturday, Aug. 28, at 11 a.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Duwayne Pounds officiating. Burial will follow in the Neill Cemetery at Savannah.
