Edith Thurling

Edith Mae Ward Thurling, 91, of Sunrise, Fla., formerly of Sardis, died Saturday, Feb. 19, in Sunrise, Fla.

She was the daughter of the late Charles Drundade Ward and his wife Louise Schutz Ward. She was united in marriage to John Agnew Thurling, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Thurling formed the Somerset County 4-H Green Thumbs Garden Club and was the leader for 14 years. She was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Mt. Horeb Volunteer Fire Department, the Warren Senior Citizens and Historical Society in Warren, N.J. She was later a member of the Sardis Senior Citizens Center.

Services were held on Saturday, Feb. 26, at Sardis Senior Citizens Center in Sardis, Tenn. Burial was in the Sardis Cemetery.

She is survived by her brothers, James and Charles Ward; her sons Robert, John Henry and Roger Thurling, daughter Louise Hawryluk; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by her sisters, Florence, Margaret and Ida.
