Eric Kent Lindberg, 77, of Counce, passed away on Thursday, June 23 in Counce. He was born on July 18, 1944 in Kearney, Nebraska, the son of the late Oscar Herbert Lindberg and Bess Charlotte Svanda Behrendt.

On April 23, 1983, he was united in marriage to Marion Faye Alsup, who survives.

Kent honorably served his country in the United States Air Force. After graduating from the Air Force Academy in 1966, he served as a pilot that flew rescue helicopters in Vietnam. He spent 24 years in active duty and earned the rank of colonel. After retiring from the U.S. Air Force, he was vice president at Federal Data and spent several years working as a consultant writing proposals for small businesses bidding on government contracts. He was a life member of the Air Force Association. Kent loved his family, golf, airplanes, beaches, and traveling.

He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Marion Faye Lindberg of Counce; sons, Ken Lindberg and his wife Shelly of College Station, Texas and Hans Lindberg of San Antonio, Texas; daughters, Alison Phillips of Savannah, and Megan Brewer and her husband Jason of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; and grandchildren, Calvin Lindberg, Ian Lindberg, Beverly Lindberg, Parsons Lindberg, Gavin Phillips, Grayson Phillips, Katie Brewer and Emma Brewer.

Memorial Services will be held on Wednesday, July 6, at 1 p.m. at United States Air Force Academy in USAF Academy, Colorado.
