Ernest Patton

Ernest Patton, 75, of Adamsville, died Saturday, Sept. 1, at the Baptist Memorial Hospital in Booneville, Miss.

He was born in Pine Valley, Miss., the son of the late Harold and Ruby Mae Jobblin Patton. He was united in marriage to Margaret Blanton, who survives.

Mr. Patton served his country in the United States Army. He retired from Shiloh National Military Park where he was the cemetery caretaker. Ernest also worked as a supervisor for the Shelby County School Bus Shop and was a mechanic instructor at William R. Moore School of Technology.

Services were held on Monday, Sept. 3, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Marcus Morrow officiating. Burial followed in the Ledbetter Cemetery at Hardin County.

In addition to his wife, Margaret of Adamsville, he is survived by three brothers, Lonnie of Pittsboro, Miss., Jim of Banner, Miss. and George Patton of Kosciusko, Miss.

He was also preceded in death by one sister, Sarah Ruth Rasberry; and one brother, Roy Patton.
