Evelyn "Lean" Mitchell (4-28-12) service 5-1-12

Evelyn "Lean" Hammock Mitchell, 75, of Savannah, died Saturday, April 28, in Savannah.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Dick and Charlie Daisy Barnett Hammock. She was united in marriage to L.D. Mitchell, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Mitchell was a homemaker and she had also worked for various factories.

Services were held on Tuesday, May 1, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Charles Linam officiating. Burial followed in the Pyburn Cemetery at Hardin County.

She is survived by one son, Mark Mitchell of Savannah; one step daughter, Betty Humphrey of Rossville, Ga.; six grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one brother, Bennie Mike Hammock of Counce.

She was also preceded in death by one sister, Nannie Tingle; and three brothers, David Earl, Sherman and George (Buddy) Hammock.
