Fay Gibbs

Fay Gibbs, of Adamsville, was born in Hardin County on June 12, 1936, the son of the late Finley Edgar (Tony) and Birtie Harue Moffett Gibbs.

On Aug. 31, 1957, he was united in marriage to Martha Hill, who survives.

Mr. Gibbs was self employed as a carpenter in Memphis and had worked for Tri-State Machines. He loved fishing and gardening. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge 102 and the Christian Assembly Pentecostal Church.

Mr. Gibbs departed this life on Saturday, March 12, at the age of 74 years, 9 months.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by a daughter, Terry Sue Blancq and husband John (Bubba) of Bartlett, Tenn.; a son, Brian Gibbs and wife Beverly of Crump; four grandchildren, Mickey Blancq, Bonnie Blancq Turner and husband Brandon, Hunter Gibbs and Brianna Gibbs; a great grandchild, Colt Parker Turner; a sister, Martha Ann Gibbs Davey and husband Mel of Adamsville; five brothers, Ray Gibbs and wife Kay, Billy Gibbs and wife Becky, Bobby Gibbs and wife Patsy, all of Adamsville, Kenny Gibbs and wife Josie of Savannah, Donny Gibbs and wife Dianna of Stantonville, Tenn.; a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John Elmer, W.M., Hoover and Joe Gibbs; three sisters, Charlyne Powell, Margaret Scott and Louise Watson.

Services were held on Monday, March 14, at 1 p.m., at Christian Assembly United Pentecostal Church in Adamsville with W.D. McCollum, Larry Hill officiating. Burial was in the Crump Cemetery.
