Flossie Mae Barker

Flossie Mae Barker, 82, died Wednesday, May 15.

She was born in Enville to the late Elcie Lee and Ella Elizabeth Shelton. She was united in marriage to George Travis Barker, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Barker was a self-employed licensed practical nurse for many years and retired as manager of the LPN Registry in Memphis. She was a member of the Tennessee Licensed Practical Nurses’ Association, Edgar Cayce Organization, A.R.E., Inc. of Virginia Beach, Va., and also a member of the Church of Christ.

A graveside service was held on Saturday, May 18, at the Lebanon Cemetery in Saltillo.

She is survived by a step-daughter, Carol Ann Barker Sluder of Warner Robbins, Ga.; one grandchild, two great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Virginia Louise Artis of Huntsville, Ala.

She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Gathel Rebecca Colbert and Virginia Faye Baggett.
