Freda Smith Freda Mae Cook Smith, 58, of Savannah, died Tuesday, Oct. 16. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Cecil Earl and Ruth Easley Cook. She was united in marriage to James Carl Smith, who survives. She had been a seamstress for Garan Manufacturing and Savannah Manufacturing. She attended Living Stone Church in Adamsville. Services were held on Thursday, Oct. 18, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Corey Leonard, Gilbert Gough officiating. Burial followed in the Graham Cemetery at Savannah. She is survived by her husband James Carl Smith of Savannah; son Jamie Smith of Savannah; brothers, Freddy Cook of Savannah, Calvin Cook of Jackson, Tenn., and Bobby Cook of Savannah; sisters, Lesia Arnold and Rhonda Cook, both of Savannah; numerous nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her son, Jason Carl Smith.
