Freddie Tenry was born in McNairy County, on Feb. 13, 1940, the son of the late Welton and Edna Bishop Tenry. On March 27, 1961, he was united in marriage to Mary Jane Thompson who survives.

Mr. Tenry served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1958 to 1962. He was stationed in Antarctica during his service. He worked for Packaging Corporation of America in Counce for 44 years and was a crew leader. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Adamsville and Adamsville F&AM Lodge 338. He was a very loving husband and father. He loved his church, family and friends.

Mr. Tenry departed this life on Monday, Nov. 4, at the age of 73 years, 8 months, 22 days.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Mary Jane Thompson Tenry of Adamsville; son, Anthony Wayne Tenry of Adamsville; daughter, Tina Ragsdale and husband Brent of Germantown, Tenn.; three grandchildren, Elizabeth Ryan Ragsdale, Garrison Tenry Ragsdale and Rebecca Tenry and sister, Helen Cagle and husband Houston of Phoenix, Ariz.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, Nov. 7, from 10:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Adamsville. Services will follow at 3 p.m. with Phil Mitchell officiating. Burial will follow at Morris Chapel Cemetery in Morris Chapel.
