George Norman Franks (12-23-11) service 12-26-11

George Norman Franks passed away on Friday, Dec. 23, at the age of 78 in Bartlett, Tenn.

He was born in Savannah and moved to Memphis in 1961.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Gail Parker Franks.

Mr. Franks retired from the Memphis Defense Depot and American Wallcovering Company. He was a United States Veteran of the Korean War and he was a member of Quail Ridge Church of Christ.

Mr. Franks is survived by one sister, Virginia Lutrell and husband Floyd; one nephew, Donald Lutrell; one niece, Kay Yewell and husband Mike; two great-nieces, Amanda Hargrove and Laura Hassler; and four great-great-nephews. Mr. Franks also leaves his beloved caregiver Beatrice Lang.

Services were held on Monday, Dec. 26, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Don Harold Lawrence officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
