Gerald Laurence (9-30-10) services 10-3-10

Rev. Gerald T. Laurence, 72, of Crump, died Thursday, Sept. 30, at Hardin Medical Center.

He was the son of the late Virgil L. and Ruby J. Laurence. He was united in marriage to Brenda Laurence, who survives.

Rev. Laurence was the former minister of Cumberland Presbyterian Church, Corinth, Miss. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Vietnam War.

Services were held Sunday, Oct. 3, at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with Rev. Jim Smith officiating. Burial was in O’Neal Cemetery, Enville.

In addition to his wife, Brenda of Crump, he is survived by three daughters, Lara Ellen Laurence of Savannah, Julie Swanke of Minneapolis, Minn., and Karen Rushing of Beech Bluff, Tenn.; three sons, Michael of Phoenix, Ariz., Greg of Booneville, Miss. and Matthew Smith of Portland, Ore.; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one brother, Leslie Glen Laurence of Nashville; and one sister, Carole L. Rudder of St. Simons Island, Ga.

He was also preceded in death by one son, Brian Smith; one sister, Shirley L. Ogden; and one brother, Thomas J. Laurence.
