Gladys Blount (5-3-11) services 5-6-11

Gladys Blount, 97, of Savannah, died Tuesday, May 3.

She was born in Benton, Ky., the daughter of the late Marvin Lee and Bertha Mae Graham Ward. She was united in marriage to Harold Blount, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Blount was a retired teacher for the Hardin County Schools. She taught English, Latin and French for 43 years. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Savannah Book Club and the Wesleyan Circle.

Services were held on Friday, May 6, at Gladys Blount’s residence in Savannah with Becky Wilkes officiating. Burial was in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.

She is survived by one daughter, Mae Frances Blount of Savannah.
