Gladys Rayborn (10-16-11) service 10-18-11

Gladys M. Rayborn, 91, of Savannah, died Sunday, Oct. 16, in Savannah.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Ira Franklin and Ruth Lane Allen. She was united in marriage to Fred Rayborn, who preceded his wife in death.

Mrs. Rayborn was a LPN at Hardin Medical Center for 20 years. She was a member of Savannah Church of Christ. She enjoyed volunteering, including with the Red Cross.

Services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 18, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Jim Chamblee officiating. Burial followed in the Milledgeville Cemetery.

She is survived by one daughter, Jenny Cates of Savannah; one grandson; one brother, Royce Allen of Memphis.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Wallace Allen.
