Granville Franks (12-24-13) service 12-28-13

Granville Franks, 85, died on Tuesday, Dec. 24. He was the son of the late Glenn Presley and Lillie Franks. He was united in marriage to Polly Stricklin, who preceded him in death.

Mr. Franks was self-employed working in home construction. He was a member of Forest Ridge Union Church.

Mr. Franks is survived by his children, Peggy Stacks, Jeannie Cox, Penny Williams, Robin Rippie, Gary W. Franks, Jerry Maynard Franks and David Michael Franks, all of Savannah; 19 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; a sister, Katie Hamilton of Savannah and a brother, Jimmy Ancil Franks of Savannah.

In addition to his parents and his wife, he was preceded in death by three sisters, Betty Jo Webb, Willodean Franks and an infant sister; four brothers, Landis, Finis and Guy Edward Franks and one infant brother.

Services were held on Dec. 28 in Savannah with Tony Polk officiating. Burial followed at Lutts Cemetery in Lutts.
