Hazel Keller

Hazel Keller, of Leesburg, Fla., was born in Blissfield, Mich., on June 28, 1917, the daughter of the late Hermann August and Marie Ida Bachendahl Kittner.

On Nov. 13, 1937, she was united in marriage to Vernon Carrol Keller, who preceded his wife in death on April 13, 2007. She was married to Vernon for 69-1/2 years.

She received her crown of glory on June 2, 2011 in Savannah, at the age of 93 years, 11 months and 5 days.

Mrs. Keller was a homemaker and beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was a long-time member of Faith Lutheran Church in Eustis, Fla. Mrs. Keller was a former resident of Asheville, N.C., Holiday, Fla. and Ann Arbor, Mich. She trusted in her eternal salvation through her redemption through Jesus Christ.

Mrs. Keller is survived by two daughters, Karen Ruhlig of Athens, Ill. and Patricia Murphy of Adamsville; seven grandchildren, Steven Ruhlig, Sharon Murphy-Nelson, Michael Ruhlig, Beth Fosse, Susan Murphy, Clifford Murphy and Sarah Dunnagan; 15 treasured great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, she was also preceded in death by her twin brother, Harold Kittner; two sisters, Mildred Valassis and Ethel Kemp; son-in-law, Rev. Erwin Ruhlig; and one grandchild, Daniel James Ruhlig.
