Helen Haynes (3-17-10) services 3-20-10

Helen Laverne Franklin Haynes, 75, of Savannah, died Wednesday, March 17.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Oscar Vernie and Maggie Alma Ford Franklin. She was united in marriage to John Arnold Haynes, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Haynes was a member of the Second Creek Church of Christ. She had worked for Brown Shoe Company for 32 years and for El Rancho Furniture Company until she retired.

Services were held on Saturday, March 20, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Ricky Gean officiating. Burial was in the Prospect Cemetery at Savannah.

She is survived by a daughter, Denise Wylie of Savannah; two stepdaughters, Jennie Posey of Florence, Ala., Shirley Morris of Savannah; a stepson, Edwin Haynes of Savannah; 14 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by two stepdaughters, Barbara Howard and Judy Yerby McFall; a stepson, Bill Haynes; a grandson; three brothers and nine sisters.
