Henrietta Wells Brown, 83, of Savannah, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 30. She was born in Lexa, Arkansas, on Nov. 13, 1940, the daughter of the late Henry and Gertie Gilliam Wells.

On Nov. 15, 1959, she was united in marriage to Billy Lee Brown, who preceded his wife in death on March 30, 2013.

Henrietta was a teacher for 25 plus years in Arkansas and Tennessee, teaching kindergarten through 8th grade. She loved attending church, singing, good sermons, bible study, bible school for children, friendship, but she loved teaching and working with children more than anything else. Henrietta always thought of others before herself, and she gave to anyone in need. She was the best wife, mother, grandmother and friend that anyone could ask for and the world is worse off without her. The most special person in her life was Billy L. Brown; her love, her husband. Her children and grandchildren were a special part of her life; her heart, and her very being. In her spare time Henrietta enjoyed reading good books, writing, sewing, and working in flower gardens.

She is survived by her children, Jeffrey L. Brown and Barry S. Brown, both of Conway, Arkansas, Karen L. Quarles of Jackson, Tennessee, and Stephen C. Brown of Henderson, Tennessee; grandchildren, Summer Boylen, Autumn Flores, Colby Brown, Shelby Wimberley, Kaytlin Brown, Emily Haney, Colton Brown, Olivia Richardson, Baylee Brown, Calli Brown, Kelsi Brown, and Kenley Duncan; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Billy L. Wells; and sister, Reba J. Wheeler.

In addition to her parents and husband, Henrietta was also preceded in death by one brother, Harvey Leon Sprouse; and one sister, Patsy R. Beasley.

Memorial services were held on Monday, Jan. 8, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Adamsville, with Jetta Forsythe officiating. Burial followed at the Corinth National Cemetery in Corinth, Mississippi.
