Herman Pipes Jr.

Herman Pipes Jr., 77, of Savannah, died on Monday, Dec. 31.

He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Herman Sr. and Mary Ann Davidson Pipes. He was united in marriage to Frankie Nell Davis, who survives.

Herman or Tom, as he was known, was a member of the River of Life Church.

Services were held on Friday, Jan. 4, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Robert House, Tony Polk officiating. Burial followed in the Shady Hill Cemetery at Hardin County.

He is survived by his wife, Frankie Nell Pipes of Savannah; children, Paula Kim Stricklin, Greg Lynn Pipes and Tracy Renee Pipes, all of Savannah; seven grandchildren; brother, Charlie "Tinker" Pipes of Savannah; sisters, Lantie Alexander and June Davidson, both of Savannah.

He was also preceded in death by two sons, Steve Dale and Tommy Wayne Pipes; brother, Melvin Pipes Sr.; sisters, Allie Jones, Wilma Dildine and Bonnie Caldwell.
