James “Jim” Walker (2-17-19) service 2-24-19

James “Jim” Walker, 92, of Memphis, died on Sunday, Feb. 17, in Cabot, Arkansas.

He was born in Crockett County, Tennessee, to Nicholas and Bertie Walker. He was united in marriage to Marie Austin, who preceded her him in death.

Mr. Walker retired after 42 years with Union Planters & Regions Bank, where he was vice president. He served his country in the United States Army, serving during World War II.  He was a member of Mullins Methodist Church in Memphis.

In addition to his parents and his wife, James was preceded in death by eight brothers, N.S. Walker, George Walker, Clifford Walker, Basil Walker, Paul Walker, Billy Walker, Buford Walker and Jackie Walker; and three sisters, Tilda Latham, Ollie B. Taylor and Ruth Kirby.

Services were held Sunday, Feb. 24, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah.
