Jeanett Bowden, 85, of Shiloh, passed away on Friday, Dec. 22. She was born on Sept. 3, 1938 in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Robert and Euthea Francis Smith Hollins.
On June 15, 1957, she was united in marriage to Loyd Worley Bowden, who preceded his wife in death on Aug. 25, 1994.
Mrs. Bowden worked as a seamstress in several garment factories, including Garan Manufacturing and US Apparel. She attended Baptist and First Full Gospel churches. Jeanett enjoyed working in her yard, quilting, fishing, sewing, and making curtains. She loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
She is survived by her daughters, Charlotte Collier of Shiloh, and Debbie Riley and her husband Steve of Ramer; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jeanett was preceded in death by her son, Michael Bowden; daughter, Beverly Moore; sisters, Diane Borden and Patricia White; and brother, William Hollins.
Memorial services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 27, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Jerry Newcomb officiating. Burial followed at Shiloh Methodist Church Cemetery in Shiloh.
