Jim McLin

James "Jim" McLin was born in Dade County, Fla., on Dec. 15, 1957, the son of J.C. McLin and the late Dorothy Mae Moore McLin.

On May 29, 1976, he was united in marriage to Reda Jane Franks, who survives.

Mr. McLin was a sawer for Roach’s Sawmill for nine years. He was a member of Olive Hill Baptist Church. Mr. McLin enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding 4-wheelers and telling jokes. He loved his family and playing with his grandchildren.

Mr. McLin departed this life on Sunday, Sept. 5, in Savannah, at the age of 52 years, 8 months and 21 days.

In addition to his wife, Reda of Savannah, he is survived by four daughters, Amanda (Christy) Johnson and her husband Barry of Gatesville, Texas, Tonia McLin, Sonia Duncan and her husband Clyde and Ashley McLin and her fiance Jason Mooneyhan, all of Savannah; seven grandchildren, Shawn Johnson, Jamie Johnson, Shelby Duncan, Courtney Duncan, Jamison Mooneyhan, Mollie Mooneyhan and Hunter Mooneyhan; his father, J.C. McLin of Savannah, and his step mother, Betty McLin of Savannah; two sisters, Helen Beckham and her husband Ronnie and Jane DeShazier and her husband, Keith, both of Savannah; four brothers, Kenneth McLin and his wife Jane of Olive Hill, Tony McLin and his wife Sandra of Savannah, Billy McLin and his wife Tammy of Savannah, and Danny McLin and his wife Connie of Collinwood; two step-sisters, Christy Hamm and Baretta Glisson, both of Savannah; one step-brother, Chuck Glisson of Michigan.

Services were held on Wednesday, Sept. 8, at 11 a.m., at Olive Hill Baptist Church in Olive Hill, with Kyle Wishhurt officiating. Burial was in the Mount Hermon Cemetery at Hardin County, Tenn.
