Jimmy Shelby Sr., 77, of Adamsville, died on Wednesday, Aug. 28. He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Columbus Brownloe and Dorothy Faye Love Shelby. He was united in marriage to Linda Y. Scott, who survives.

Mr. Shelby was a head maintenance man at Proctor & Gamble and the owner operator of Shelby Tires in Crump.

Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 31, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with James Shutt officiating. Burial followed in the Goshen Cemetery at Savannah.

He is survived by his wife, Linda Y. Shelby, of Crump; children, Jimmy Shelby Jr. of Orlando, Fla., Lorinda Roach of Pickwick and Tracy Lee Shelby of Adamsville; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; brother, Charles David Shelby of Savannah; sisters, Judy Ann Griggs of Waynesboro, Nancy Brown Godwin and Beverly Kay Dickerson both of Savannah.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by daughters, Vickie Jeanette Shelby and Kimberly Dawn Shelby; brothers, Dean, Roger and Donnie Shelby.
