Joe Turnbow

Joe Neal Turnbow, 76, of Savannah, died Wednesday, March 14.

He was born in Hardin County, the son of the late Grady William and Cora Mae Hollingsworth Turnbow. He was united in marriage to Edna Earl Howard, who survives.

Mr. Turnbow was a sander for Parris Manufacturing Company. He was a member of the Center Hill Baptist Church.

Services were held on Saturday, March 17, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Harry Nolen and Louie Winters officiating. Burial followed in the Pyburn Cemetery at Hardin County.

He is survived by his wife, Edna Turnbow of Savannah; three daughters, Edna Sue Spencer of Stantonville, Joyce Clausel of Adamsville, and Sandra Thompson of Savannah; a son, Jerry Terry of Savannah; 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Joyce Brown of Adamsville and Catherine Kendricks of Jackson, Tenn.; four brothers, Grady W. Turnbow Jr. of Munford, Tenn., Everette of Savannah, Sammy of Crump, and Roy Turnbow of Corinth, Miss.

He was also preceded in death by four sons, Bobby, Boe, David and J.C. Terry; and an infant brother.
