Memorial services for Mrs. Joyce Wright, 63, of Algood, Tenn., were held Saturday, Jan. 9, at 11 a.m., at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home with Dr. Wesley Henry officiating.

Mrs. Wright died suddenly Tuesday, Jan. 5, in the Emergency Room at Cookeville Regional Medical Center.

She was born Aug. 24, 1946, in Savannah, to the late Robert Harve Fondren and Carrie Campbell Fondren Childress.

Mrs. Wright received her BS in business education in 1975 and MBA in 1981 from Tennessee Tech. She was the former administrative assistant to J.S. Brown, former dean of engineering at TTU and she retired from Automated Data Processing in 2008.

She was a member and newsletter editor of the Cookeville Area Rose Society.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Fondren.

She is survived by her husband of 27 years, Richard Wright of Algood, (whom she married Feb. 11, 1983, in Atlanta, Ga.); six children, David Wright and wife Connie of Mount Juliet, Tenn., Carolyn and husband Bob Keller of Lake Tahoe, Nev., Patricia Wright of Georgia, Penny Beck and husband Tommy of Georgia, twins Lora and Edna of Alabama, two brothers, Bobby and wife Ruby Fondren of Savannah, and Travis and wife Sandy Fondren of Orlando, Fla.; sister, Saundra and husband Larry Hughes of Counce, and neice Angie, her husband J. J.Gardner and their children Hank and Sally Kate of Corinth, Miss.
