Lain E. Johnson, 82, of Peoria, Illinois, died at 1:26 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 20, at the OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home in Peoria, Illinois.
Lain was born on March 24, 1932, in Tennessee to Eldridge and Samantha Johnson. He married Delphia “Marie” Feazell on Dec. 3, 1949. They recently celebrated 65 years of marriage.
He is survived by his wife; two sons, Roy Charley Johnson of Quincy, Illinois, and Timothy Johnson (Karen) of Peoria, Illinois; one grandson, Samuel Johnson of Peoria, Illinois; a stepgrandson, Tim Spenny (Stephanie) of Peoria, Illinois; three great-grandchildren: twins, Alaina and Olivia Johnson and Charli Sue Johnson, all of Peoria, Illinois; and numerous nieces, nephews and beloved family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Toulon Johnson (Christine); his twin brother, Swain Johnson (Della); his daughter, Sereta Joan Johnson; and one grandson, Lain Johnson Jr.
Lain moved from Tennessee to begin his 30-year career at Caterpillar, retiring in 1980.
He was a life member and past master of the Masonic Temple Lodge 46 and the Mohammad Shrine in Peoria, Illinois.  He also drove the van for Shrine, taking children to the hospital.
He enjoyed hunting, fishing, working in his yard, traveling with his wife, watching his beloved Cubs, going to auctions and reading Western novels.
The family would like to personally thank all of the nurses and staff at the OSF Richard L. Owens  Hospice Home for their patience, kindness and caring nature. We will forever be grateful. 
Funeral services were Saturday, Dec. 27, at 11 a.m., at Magnolia Funeral Home Chapel of Memories with burial in Center Hill Cemetery at Counce.
Bro. Keith Driskell officiated the service.
Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
Pallbearers were Bud Parson, Sam Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Lewis Johnson, Randy Johnson and John Johnson.
