Lantie Bell Alexander, 94, of Savannah, died on Saturday, Sept. 21. She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Herman and Mary Ann Davison Pipes. She was united in marriage to George Gordy Alexander who preceded her in death.

Services were held on Sept. 24, at 1 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Westley Hazel officiating. Burial followed in the New Harmony Baptist Church Cemetery at Savannah.

Mrs. Alexander is survived by a son, Chester Alexander of Cape Girardeau, Mo; daughters, Johnnie Evelyn Rhoads of Blytheville, Ark., Pat Moses of Round Rock, Texas, and Elaine Moore of Blytheville, Ark.; brother, Charlie Pipes of Savannah; sister, June Davidson of Savannah; 11 grandchildren, 15 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Gerald Alexander and two infant sons;  granddaughter, Cynthia Rhoads; brothers, Tom Pipes and Melvin Pipes; sisters, Bonnie Caldwell, Allie Jones, and Wilma Dildine.
