Leo Watson Franks departed this life at the age of 82 years on Monday, July 1, in Denton, N.C. where he lived 65 years.
He was born in Hardin County on Dec. 2, 1930. He was the son of the late Larence and Sudie Bain Franks. He was united in marriage to Jeweldean Gallmore of Denton, N.C. who survives.
Mr. Franks serven his country honorably in the United States Army.
He retired from Thomasville Furniture Factory in Thomasville, N.C. after 37 years.
In addition to his wife Jeweldean his is survived by a daughter Judy Franks Draughn and husband James; and one son Terry Franks all of Denton, N.C.; two grandchildren Chad and Cassie; two great-grandchildren Allison and Isabelle.
In additon to his parents he was proceded in death by two brothers Edward A. Franks of the the Big Ivy Community of Savannah and George Franks of Lutts, TN.
Services were held on Thursday, July 4, at 11 a.m. at the Briggs Funeral Home Memorial Chapel in Denton, N.C. with Rev. Gene Little and Rev. James Draughn presiding. Burial was in the Tom’s Creek Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery in Denton, N.C.Â
