Linda Austin

Linda Austin was born in Hardin County on Nov. 26, 1951, the daughter of the late Dalton Willard and Oma Jean Highland Austin.

Ms. Austin was raised in Zion, Ill., and a member of the Church of Christ.

Ms. Austin departed this life on Tuesday, Jan. 5, at the age of 58 years, 1 month, 10 days.

Ms. Austin is survived by two sons, Brian Scott Mealer and Timothy Paul Mealer, both of Birmingham, Ala.; a brother, Raymond Earl Austin of Savannah; five grandchildren, Cody Mealer, Emily Mealer, Jeremiah Leeth, Lindsey Mealer and Savannah Grace Mealer; a niece, Diana Lynn Scott; a nephew, Steven Ray Austin.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Austin was preceded in death by her grandparents, J.A. and Mamie Highland, Deck and Rosie Austin.

Services were held on Thursday, Jan. 7, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Dennis Moffett officiating. Burial was in the Hollands Creek Cemetery at Hardin County, Tenn.
