Lizzie Smith (7-2-11) services 7-5-11

Lizzie Deshazier Smith, 89, of Savannah, died Saturday, July 2, in Savannah.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late William and Celia Isley Deshazier. She was united in marriage to JC Smith, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Smith was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church.

Services were held on Tuesday, July 5, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with James Shutt, Johnny Wilson officiating. Burial followed in the Graham Cemetery at Hardin County.

She is survived by a son, James Carl Smith of Savannah; three daughters, Patsy Ray Beam, Barbara Ann Hurt and Tammy Lynn Neill, all of Savannah; nine grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren; a brother, RH Deshazier of Savannah.

She was also preceded in death by a son, William Charles Smith; two grandchildren; three sisters, Rose Hollins, Stella Hurt and Lena Hutton; three brothers, Vernon, Bill and Irvin Deshazier.
