Mamie Lee Franks

Mamie Lee Franks, 73, of Savannah, died Thursday, Aug. 26, in Jackson, Tenn. She was born in Decatur, Ala., the daughter of the late Daniel Pearson and Denny Sparks Grissom. She was united in marriage to Clyde Franks Jr., who survives.

Mrs. Franks was owner and operator of Lee’s Discount and she also worked for Angelica for five years. She was a member of Hope Ministries.

Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 28, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Ronnie Sanders and Bob Sircy officiating. Burial was in the Neill Cemetery at Savannah.

In addition to her husband, Clyde of Savannah, she is survived by one daughter, Shirley Stevenson of Savannah; and one son, Otis Dewayne Harville of Savannah; two step-daughters, Jan Washburn of Savannah and Joan Washburn of Selmer; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren; two sisters, Elizabeth Johnson and Willadean Garrison, both of Hartselle, Ala.

She was also preceded in death by one brother, Farris Grissom; one grandchild and two great grandchildren.
