Margie Rowland

Margie Rowland, 85, of Savannah, died Friday, Jan. 18, in Savannah.

She was born in Uniontown, Ky., the daughter of the late William Forrest and Ethel Sutton Powell. She was united in marriage to Walter Rowland, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Rowland was the owner and operator of Margie’s Flower Shop and she also did some upholstery work. Margie was a member of Church of the Nazarene in Savannah.

Services were held on Sunday, Jan. 20, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Wayne Bittle, James Fitts officiating. Burial followed in the Neill Cemetery at Savannah.

She is survived by her children, Shirley Melvin of Corinth, Miss., and Judy Shy of Iuka, Miss.; seven grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Dean Bickitt of Uniontown, Ky.

She was also preceded in death by one daughter, Debra Jones; and twelve siblings.
