Marie Townsell Young, 87, of Savannah, died Wednesday, Feb. 6.
She was born in Corinth, Miss., daughter of the late John Riley and Artie Van Goff. She was united in marriage to Floyd Tillman Young, who preceded her in death.
Mrs. Young retired from the Dade County School System in Miami, Fla., where she was a cafeteria worker.
Services were held on Monday, Feb. 11, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Duwayne Pounds officiating. Burial followed in the Neill Cemetery at Savannah.
She is survived by her children, Shirley Mungenast of Boca Raton, Fla., and Steven Young of Savannah; and two grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by two half brothers, Earl and Ernest White; and one half sister, Ethel White Meals.
