Martha Jane Pitts was born on March 31, 1950, in Savannah, the daughter of Marvin Hanna and Myrtle Davis Hanna Tanner, who preceded her in death. She was united in marriage to Terry William Pitts on Dec. 22, 1967.

Martha was coordinator for Southwest HRA Transportation in Savannah. She enjoyed working on all types of crafts and loved spoiling her grandkids. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Savannah.

Martha departed this life on Thursday, March 21, at the age of 62 years, 11 months and 21 days.

She is survived by her husband, Terry Pitts; one daughter, Amanda Gladish and her husband, Brian, and one son, Terrill Pitts and his wife, Janet, all of Savannah; 11 grandchildren, Nikki Caldwell, Angel Caldwell, Billy Caldwell, Lareia Pitts, Chris Collett, Blake Pitts, Jaden Collett, Keylie Pitts, Cole Pitts, Ashley Collett and Sean Collett, and one (expecting) great-grandchild, Paitan Caldwell.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Mackie Hunt.

Services were held on Monday, March 25, at 3 p.m., at Seventh Day Adventist Church in Savannah with John Johnston officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.
