Mary Lou McCall

Mary Lou McCall was born March 10, 1931, in Hardin County, the daughter of the late John Thomas and Gracie Ann Austin Ponds.

On July 13, 1946, she was united in marriage to Glen W. McCall. Mr. McCall preceded her in death on July 7, 1998.

Mrs. McCall worked at the Hardin County Convenience Center in Saltillo and had previously been employed with HIS in Saltillo. She was a member of the Saltillo Baptist Church in Saltillo. Mrs. McCall enjoyed gardening, puzzles, reading the Bible, visiting with friends and family, and going to church.

She departed this life on Thursday, Jan. 6, in Jackson, Tenn., at the age of 79 years, 9 months, 27 days.

Mrs. McCall is survived by two daughters, Janette Terrell and Mary Adams both of Saltillo; three grandchildren, David Terrell, Penny Rudd, and Shane Adams; four great-grandchildren; a sister, Louise Bridges of Savannah; and a brother, Lloyd Parker Ponds of Hamilton, Ala.

In addition to her husband and parents, Mrs.McCall was preceded in death by a son, PFC Phillip Glen McCall, USMC; a sister, Dorothy Jackson; five brothers, Thomas Ponds, John Earl Ponds, and three infant brothers; maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Andrew Jackson Austin and paternal grandparents, Mrs. and Mrs. Charlie Ponds.

Services were held on Saturday, Jan. 8, at 1 p.m., at Saltillo Baptist Church in Saltillo with Mark Burton officiating. Burial followed in the Shady Grove Cemetery at Saltillo.
