Mattie Mae Winters Jackson, 83, of Savannah, died on Friday, Oct. 12, at her residence in Savannah.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Andrew and Myrtle Winters. She was united in marriage to Arthur Lee Jackson, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Jackson worked for 30 plus years for Angelica Manufacturing.  She was a member of St. Mark Baptist Church.

She is survived by her children, Sharon D. Jackson of Pulaski, Tennessee, Kimberly C. Atkins of Savannah, James L. Jackson of Tiptonville, Tennessee, David L. Jackson of Savannah, Charma S. Jackson of Savannah, Tracy C. Dixon of Savannah and two stepsons, Jackie Collins  and Dorris Collins, both of Nashville; one sister, Juanita Fry of Savannah; 17 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Delmar Jackson; stepdaughter, Marie Sterling; four brothers, Truman Winters, Hilliard Winters, Alex Young and William Winters; and two sisters, Lucy Winters and Albanie Word.

Services were held on Saturday, Oct. 20, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Lancey Robinson and Eddie Payne officiating. Burial followed in Memory Gardens at Savannah.
