Mava Ross Mava "Grammy" Ross, 79, of Morris Chapel, died Sunday, Oct. 16. She was born in Benton Harbor, Mich., the daughter of the late Ferman Hess and Marie Rose Hess Salee. She was united in marriage to Herbert Brouse Ross Sr., who preceded her in death. Mrs. Ross was a lifetime cook and had also worked for the RHEMA Shelter in Savannah. Services will held on Thursday, Oct. 20, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Chapel in Adamsville. Burial will follow in the Bethlehem Cemetery at Adamsville. She is survived by three daughters, Shelley Lynn Jackson and Sheila June Nickerson, both of Morris Chapel, and Nena Ellen Powell of Berrien Center, Mich.; a son, Herbert Brouse Ross Jr. of Morris Chapel; 8 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Harry Hess; two sisters, Alma Henderson and Patsy Oliver.
