Mavis Surratt (12-18-10) services 12-22-10

Mavis Surrat, 88, of Adamsville, died Saturday, Dec. 18.

She was born in McNairy County, Tenn., the daughter of the late Payton and Ruby Carroll Gann. She was united in marriage to James Surratt, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Surratt was a member of the Adamsville Lions Club and the First Methodist Church in Adamsville for 63 years.

Services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 22, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Toni Watson officiating. Burial was in the Adamsville Cemetery.

She is survived by two daughters, Jenny Rodgers of Memphis and Ila Jane Linam of Savannah; a son, Mike Surratt of Nashville; four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Judy Lynn Surratt; a sister, Merle Cox; two brothers, Marvin and Carroll Gann.
