Maxine Newman (3-10-10) services 3-13-10

Maxine Newman, 80, of Mandeville, La., died on Wednesday, March 10.

She was a native of Hardin County and a resident of Mandeville, La. for the past 40 years.

Funeral services were held on Saturday, March 13, from the Chapel at E.J. Fielding Funeral Home, 2260 W. 21st. Ave., Covington, La. Burial was in Mandeville City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in memory of Maxine Newman be made to St. Jude’s Hospital in Memphis, TA 25779154; or the First Baptist Church of Lacombe, La. building fund, 985-882-5682.

She is survived by her children, Linda Joyce Hansen, Beverly Kay Frosch, Mack Edward Newman, Charles Lee Newman and Mary Beth Kaizer; four brothers, Charles Horton, Lee P. Horton, David Horton, all of Savannah, Jerry Horton of Stantonville; three sisters, Johnnie Ruth Allen of Savannah, Patricia Martin of Moriarty, N.M., Jeanette Alexander of Savannah; grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, A.E. Newman; her parents, Mack Oatsvall and John and Dovie Horton.
