Melvin Stricklin

Melvin Stricklin, 67, of Savannah, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, at his residence.

He was the son of the late Seamon and Ruby Brown Stricklin. He was united in marriage to Karen Wilson, who survives.

Mr. Stricklin was a self-employed carpet and vinyl installer. He attended Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church and Abrams Chapel.

Services were held Saturday, Aug. 11, at Shady Grove Freewill Baptist Church with Randy Stricklin officiating. Burial at Petty Branch Cemetery, Savannah.

In addition to his wife, Karen Stricklin of Savannah, he is survived by a son, Paul Stricklin of Savannah; three daughters, Mellissa Stricklin of Lutts, Lisa Westerveld of Winter Springs, Fla. and Tina Robicheaux of Florida; 14 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; and a sister, Susie Franks of Olive Hill.

He was preceded in death by a son, William Stricklin Jr.; and brothers, James and J.W. Stricklin.
