Mildred Counce (3-29-12) service 4-1-12

Mildred W. Counce, 92, of Lawrenceburg, died Thursday, March 29.

She was born in Hardin County, the daughter of the late David and Maud Walker. She was united in marriage to James E. Counce, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Counce was a homemaker and artist, and former member of Barnhill Methodist Church in Savannah. She was in the Home Demonstration Club, a member of Coleman Memorial United Methodist Church in Lawrenceburg and Savannah Art Guild.

Services were held on Sunday, April 1, at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Ricky Wade officiating. Burial followed in the Memory Gardens at Savannah.

She is survived by her son Robert Counce of Lawrenceburg, Tenn.; a daughter Marilyn Canale of Gibsonville, N.C.; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild; two sisters Ann Johnson of Savannah and Lois Dean Johnson of Mars Hill, N.C.

She was also preceded in death by a son Mark Counce; two brothers Brown and Graham Walker; and one sister Chrystal Harville.
