Patsy Shands Vickery, of Iron City, Tennessee, departed this life on Wednesday, April 12, at the age of 75 years, 11 months and 4 days. 
She was born in Shelby County, Tennessee, on May 8, 1941, the daughter of the late Fred and Geraldine Fletcher Shands. On Oct. 3, 1989, she was united in marriage to Ross Harold Vickery, who preceded her in death on May 16, 2016.
Patsy had lived in Wayne County most of her life and Iron City, Tennessee for the last 14 years. She was a member of White’s Creek Freewill Baptist Church. She enjoyed watching TV and loved having people visit.
She is survived by her children, Anthony Barkley of Iron City, Tennessee and Lou Pettus and her husband Michael of Florence, Alabama; grandchildren, Whitney Beard and her husband Matt, Cara Martin and her husband Tyler, Michael Wiley Pettus II, and Blake Barkley; great-grandchildren, Emery Cate Beard and Eden Beard; sisters, Carol Gravett and her husband Jerry of Savannah and Linda Curry and her husband Carrol of Waterloo, Alabama.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Ann Bevis and Rebecca Shands; and brothers, Tommy Jack Shands, Freddie Gerald Shands and Ricky Dewayne Shands.
Memorial donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105.
Services were held on Saturday, April 15, at 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah with Earl Rich and Matt Beard officiating. Burial followed in Fielder Cemetery at Savannah.
