Peggy Knight Alexander

July 1, 1941–March 10, 2013

Our mother leaves an extensive amount of friends and loved ones. She has touched numerous lives and been an inspiration to many during her 23 years at Parris South Elementary and her 71 years on this planet.

Peggy regularly conducted a jail ministry as one of the "Church Ladies" and was gifted to share the blessings and hope from the Bible to many who otherwise might not have had a chance to hear the message.

She was a prolific writer who was just coming into her own and did it well. It is no secret that once our mother set her mind on something it would be accomplished. This she managed to fulfill with style and grace.

She is survived by her mother, Elizabeth Wright of Nashville, three children, Christopher Knight and his wife Tonya of Savannah, Beth Waller and her husband Willie of Hampshire, Tenn., and Debbie Broyles and her husband Mike of Laredo, Texas; and one brother, Gary Frazier of Smith County. There are five grandchildren, Matthew Lizana of Gulfport, Miss., Jessica DeLugas of Gulfport, Miss., Jason Simmons of Columbia, Tenn., RaeAnne Simmons of Columbia, Tenn., and Colby Borden of Savannah. Also grieving the loss of their great-grandmother are Levi Lizana, Jenna Yarbrough, Jasee Simmons, Trent DeLugas, Joshua Shuck, Tison Simmons and Jordan Shuck.

May the God of all strength and comfort be with us all as we struggle to get through this tribulation.

Services were held on Saturday, March 16, at 3 p.m. at Shackelford Chapel in Savannah with Larry Rich and Candy Garrison officiating. Burial followed in the Lutts Cemetery at Lutts, Tenn.
