Funeral services for Penny Chaney, 53, of Toone, Tennessee, were held Monday, Oct. 6, at Holland’s Creek Methodist Church in Hardin County with burial in the Holland’s Creek Cemetery.  The service was officiated by Kevin L. Mercer.  Pallbearers included Blake and Jerrod Leatherwood, Kyle Chaney, Ricky Taylor, Troy Dempsey, Champ Crumley, Jason McCord and Brian Vandiver.
Ms. Chaney passed away Friday, Oct. 3, at Jackson-Madison County General Hospital.
She was born in Lee County, Virginia on April 22, 1961, and later moved to Chicago, Illinois at the age of 2. She then moved to Savannah at age 27 and had lived in Hardeman County for the past 16 years. She was employed with Hardeman County EMS for 17 years as an EMT and billing clerk and also worked two years at the Criminal Justice Center in Bolivar as a 9-1-1 dispatcher.
She is survived by her three sons, Ricky Taylor, Kyle Chaney and Jerrod Leatherwood; two grandsons, Evan Taylor and Jacob Leatherwood, all of Toone; one sister and her husband, Margaret and Danny Seaton of Savannah; one brother and his wife, Richard and Lisa Taylor of Savannah; four nephews, Greg and wife Donna Seaton; Michael Taylor of Illinois, Cody and Ryan Taylor of Savannah; three nieces, Kathleen Taylor of Illinois, Wendy and her husband Gary Gannon and Sara Wisniowicz, all of Savannah; three great-nieces, Hayley and Tia Gannon and Cloe’ Adams; two great-nephews, Corey and Joshua Seaton, all of Savannah.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elizabeth and William Emrich; two brothers, Donald and Mitchell Taylor; and a daughter, Keshia Chaney, all of Illinois.
She also leaves special friends, Peggy and Kim Turner, Champ Crumley, Troy Dempsey, Jackie Kelley and all her friends and co-workers at Hardeman County EMS and The Criminal Justice Center in Bolivar.
